Cinnamon oil was extracted from fresh branches, leaves, stems and bark of Cinnamomum chinensis, a plant of cheilaceae, by steam distillation and fumigation. Can be used to prepare tobacco, beverage, wine, toothpaste flavor. It can also be used in some soaps and aromatherapy fragrances. Cinnamaldehyde can be isolated from oil, and further synthesis of cinnamyl alcohol and cinnamate a variety of spices.
